he has come back strong from a tough month of battling pneumonia and internal bleeding from a stomach ulcer. While he was being treated in a regular hospital and then a rehabilitation hospital the family tag teamed Barry’s plan to move him to Houston near him. Kitty was on site packing his home when he was released and drove him to Barry’s home in Houston. Less than a week later he was moved into The Village, an assisted living facility. The pneumonia had stubbornly persisted through the transition but has finally been beaten by superior German persistence. Big Al is doing well. He and Ferd talk fairly often. A blessing, as is having the support of the the Shampnois and Sonderns.

That’s great. I want to talk to him again. I love the “superior German persistence,” or as my father used to say, “stubborn Huns.”
